About

The borders are now open, come to New Zealand with Creative Kiwi Travel.

Creative Kiwi Travel is young new and vibrant, me Heather Collins, on the other hand, I am stable, traditional, more mature and therefore very experienced. I have been selling New Zealand to  internationals for over 35 years ( they were the fortunate ones) , needless to say they are not visiting (at the moment). However their loss is certainly your gain.

For a number of years I have felt the need to promote New Zealand, to New Zealander’s. After 35 years I now want to share my knowledge and experience with you, get you out and about, travelling the highways and byways of home.

Creative Kiwi Travel is about getting you out there, see what there is, and visit all those places you have always wanted to, but have not got around to it. I want to share my in depth knowledge of New Zealand with you, creating a holiday you will remember, travel outside the square. This pandemic has meant I am now able to proudly guide you through our wonderful country. My personality will show through as you travel with me, as will my enthusiasm. We are all fortunate to be living in such a wonderful country, so let me show you my New Zealand.  I would love nothing more than to hear from you, to discuss what I can offer and match up to your requirements.

That explains my passion for tourism now a little about me. I grew up on a farm in Otago, then travelled overseas, I have been fortunate to work in both USA (Tennessee) and Canada (Toronto) for a considerable amount of time in my younger years. On arrival back to New Zealand I was not ready for the three M’s of real life – marriage, mortgage and little monsters, so as any good farm girl would do, I headed to Antarctica. I worked for a New Zealand company doing the cleaning at the American Base McMurdo. I would love to say I did some significant scientific research, but actually I mopped floors, cleaned toilets and washed dishes – hey someone had to do it. I loved it so much after one summer I went down again for a 14 month stint, washing dishes, mopping floors and cleaning toilets. This was a wonderful opportunity and a privilege I still reflect on as life changing. Well it was, as I met my husband down there, we still have a strong affiliation with Antarctica because of this. Once Antarctica was out of my system, it was time to establish the three M’s, all successfully conquered A NUMBER OF YEARS LATER. So I am now many years later very settled in Christchurch, with my husband, our home, our son and my extended family. So let me show you what we have in this fine country of ours. My parting quote is André Paul Guillaume Gide

“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
